Google has made an important update to its search algorithm which effects Google searches from smart phones.

But don't panic!

The change currently only effects the rankings on phones, it doesn't effect searches conducted from desktops or on tablets.

So while it's imperative that your website becomes mobile friendly in the near future, the urgency of this can be determined by checking your websites statistics for the percentage of mobile traffic. As a guide, if 25% or more of your traffic comes from mobile users, then you need to consider upgrading your website sooner rather than later.

What does this mean?

Basically if your website is not mobile friendly your web site ranking will begin to drop, regardless of the quality of your content.

Where to begin?

The first thing to do is to check and see if your website is mobile friendly. You can do this by visiting Google's mobile friendly test page via the button below. Note: that If your website was built by us (EWS) in the last 12 - 18 months, then it's likely that it's already mobile friendly.

What's the next step?

If you run the above test and your site doesn't pass, simply use our enquiry form, and we will assist by assessing your websites current mobile usage. Then we can determine the best course of action regarding a mobile friendly upgrade.
